Garden Herbs

Herbs have been cultivated for longer than we have recorded the fact. Their culinary and medicinal abilities are well known, although the specific properties attached to each is not so well known. On this page we highlight the extensive herb collection grown at Winsford Walled Garden.

We have all enjoyed the terrific scents of parsley, rosemary, sage and thyme as we pass them by in our gardens. Some people have even included them in song. My baptism with fresh home grown basil leaves in a salad was a delicious and memorable surprise. I could not believe the difference they made. Ever since, I have been an enthusiastic supporter of Tanya's extensive herb collection. Admittedly, it is largely from a personal and enthusiastic culinary viewpoint!
