At 'My Garden Gate' gardeners can write about the gardens in their region which have caught their interest over the years.

My Garden Gate is the place for gardeners to write about the gardens in their region which have caught their interest over the years. Beautiful gardens are invariably created by interesting 'characters' and My Garden Gate is as much about the gardeners who created them as the gardens themselves.

Good gardens, both large and small, are as much a feature of their local landscape as the natural environment that surrounds them, and a good gardener feels this intuitively and often blends his or her creation with nature, sometimes in contrast, sometimes in harmony, but always to good effect.

Writers may not always describe a complete garden but a particular feature instead, such as a grotto, which intrigues them enough to inspire an article. Or, they may write about a garden-related event within their local community.

Marion Laurence, who writes from New Zealand's North Island, not only wanted to write about the gardens and gardeners in her area of Waikato, she was just as excited writing about the Flower Courts community project being prepared for the local Floral Festival next April. The Flower Courts are being prepared with a historical theme, using flowers and foliage in ingenious ways to depict the special things about New Zealand.

My Garden Gate is looking to hear from anyone who can write gardening articles about their own area that will interest the 'Garden World' at large. Since we have so many visitors from across the 'Big Pond' and it is such a big area we'd be delighted to welcome anyone from North America.

It's all very laid-back, there are no deadlines, and you write your article according to your own wishes. Each gardener is the editor, writer and photographer of their section and can post their pages directly from their own browser at any time. Contact Mike if you are interested.
